Based in Queen Creek, Arizona, Lauren Chmelka has worked as a personal chef in the Phoenix area since 2011. In her role at Big City Chefs, she works with clients to develop appropriate menus, then handles all related meal planning activities, including shopping for ingredients, cooking meals, serving food, and cleanup. She has extensive experience preparing meals, especially complex dishes and food that meets special dietary needs, in private homes. Further, Lauren Chmelka offers her clients hands-on cooking classes.
Before joining Big City Chefs, Ms. Chmelka worked as a private chef in Chicago, Illinois. Her responsibilities in this position encompassed all areas of meal preparation and kitchen maintenance. Before becoming a private chef, she spent more than two years as an executive chef at The Joynt.
Ms. Chmelka received her degree in journalism from The Ohio State University. After completing a culinary degree program at Kendall College, she worked as a line cook at Hilton Barcelona in Spain as part of her culinary externship.
